International Scientific Conference
The Condition of Public Finances in the EU and their Future Perspectives
held on June 2-3, 2022
in the premises of Faculty of Law, UPJŠ in Košice, Slovakia
covering two thematic sections:
A. EU Budget
Since the beginnings of European integration, and considering its evolution, processes and negotiations have been and are ongoing at EU level on the shape of its budget, its size and structure, the areas and policies it should finance, etc. There is no doubt that the implementation of the budget-law relations within the framework of this budget affects the budgets not only of the EU Member States, but also of states outside the EU. In this context, there is an opportunity to explore the different contexts and levels of possible knowledge, both on the revenue side of the budget (the own resources system) and on the expenditure side, as well as on the procedural regularities of the EU budget and its relationship with other budgets.
B. Real Property in Taxation
Real property has long been not only the specific subject of the eponymous real property taxes, but also the subject of regulation of other taxes - whether in the context of the taxation of income derived from such property, its transfer, or in terms of the supply of real property in respect of the value added tax, etc. Under this thematic section, perspectives on various aspects of taxation specifically in relation to real property are welcome.
The conference will take place as part of the VEGA project No. 1/0485/21: "Simultaneity and possibilities of reforming the system of own resources of the EU budget (legal and economic aspects also in the context of the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic)" and VEGA project No. 1/0214/21: "Real Property Tax - Legal Status and Potential".
The format of the conference will be hybrid (physical and online participation). The conference will be held in Slovak, Czech and English language.
Registration for the conference is open until May 10, 2022 and should be made by submitting the enclosed registration form (which is also published on the Department's website https://www.upjs.sk/pravnicka-fakulta/kfpdpae/konferencia2022/) to anna.romanova@upjs.sk.
The conference fee is set at EUR 69 for physically present participants, EUR 49 for their accompanying persons and EUR 29 for online participants, and should be paid in accordance with the instructions published on the Department's website https://www.upjs.sk/pravnicka-fakulta/kfpdpae/konferencia2022/ no later than May 20, 2022.
The papers of the conference participants will be published in the form of electronic proceedings. Please, submit the texts of the papers in the form specified by the template published on the Department's website to anna.romanova@upjs.sk no later than June 30, 2022.
